Can I shoot my rifle with AlphaShields?

The attenuation characteristics of any hearing protection device (HPD) depend on proper fit. TETRA AlphaShield devices must fit snuggly and fully occlude the ear canals to achieve the best protection. Please consult the owner’s manual for proper tip selection. AlphaShield products are designed to provide appropriate hearing protection for shotguns and small to medium caliber weapons fire up to 160-dB peak levels. Magnum caliber handguns and guns with muzzle breaks can produce levels in excess of 170-dB SPL peak. For such, TETRA recommends double protection- AlphaShields along with quality earmuffs- to provide appropriate attenuation and maintain communication ability.
